Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and technically proficient PreViz Shot Creator to join our dynamic PreViz team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, animating, and refining cinematic sequences in collaboration with directors, VFX supervisors, and other department leads. Your work will serve as the blueprint for live-action shoots and visual effects, helping drive creative and logistical decisions early in production.
Key Responsibilities
Create compelling, cinematic previsualization shots based on scripts, storyboards, and creative direction.
Work within Unreal Engine and/or Maya to block out camera moves, character animation, and basic environments.
Collaborate closely with directors, VFX teams, and production designers to ensure creative intent is clearly visualized.
Iterate on sequences based on feedback and evolving creative direction.
Maintain consistent visual style and timing across sequences.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in previsualization, virtual production, or layout.
Strong proficiency in Unreal Engine, Maya, or equivalent 3D tools.
Solid understanding of cinematography, camera composition, lensing and storytelling through motion.
Experience with basic character animation, rigging, and scene blocking.
Familiarity with shot continuity, pacing, and editing principles.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
Bonus Skills
Experience with mocap systems or virtual camera operation.
Background in film, animation, or game cinematics.
Understanding of postvis and final shot handoffs.
